Chinese President Hu Jintao deliveres speech at APEC CEO Summit 2009

Chinese President Hu Jintao has delivered a speech entitled "Strengthen Confidence in Cooperation and Revive the World Economy" at APEC CEO Summit on November 13, 2009. The speech received warm response from participants, conveying "confidence and hope".

President Hu put forward four proposals to push the overall recovery of the global economy.
First, he said China will strongly promote free trade and the further liberalization of investments.
Second, enhancing the integration of regional economies through multiple channels.
Third, a renewed effort to implement reforms of the international financial system.
Last, accelerating the transformation of economic development models with innovative ideas.

When President Hu finished the speech, the hall resounded with prolonged enthusiastic applause. Deb Henretta, Group President of P&G Asia, walked onto the stage wearing red Chinese-style clothes. She thanked President Hu Jintao in Chinese, and on behalf of all the participants she expressed gratitude for China’s role in facilitating the recovery of world economy.

APEC CEO Summit 2009 was officially opened in Singapore on November 13. In the 2-day session, several APEC leaders will attend the meeting and delivered a speech. The theme of this summit is "Rebuilding the Global Economy: Crisis and Opportunity" .
